Private tools for mail and Google Workspace

Lanterne Workspace MCP connects authorised Google accounts to Alex Barnes's private productivity tools. These include the Anvil and Hearth mail clients and connected assistants. Access is limited to accounts approved by the operator. There is no public sign-up.

What the tools do

Anvil and Hearth let the account owner read and search mail, compose and send messages, use signatures and attachments, organise labels, and manage Gmail filters. They also keep drafts and schedules for snooze and send later.

The existing Workspace connection also lets enabled assistants work with calendars, contacts, tasks, Drive files, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, Forms, Chat and Apps Script. Each operation depends on the permissions the account owner granted and the tools enabled for that assistant.

Connecting an account

Google shows the permissions requested for the connection. The mail client requests Gmail access for reading and organising mail, composing and sending, and managing basic settings such as filters. A Workspace assistant can request a different set of permissions. A Google connection does not grant access to every assistant automatically.

Google handles sign-in. The tools store authorisation credentials so they can refresh access without asking for a password each time. Users can revoke access through their Google Account.
